Meet Pastor

"Preaching fosters faith, but Ministry gives helping hands!"

Minister Kevin is a native of Woodville, TX. At age 16, September of 1998, he preached his first sermon, "Faith for the Rooftop," at New Shady Grove Baptist Church. After graduating from Woodville High School, Minister Kevin attended University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Belton, TX), while carrying out his dream to play football at the collegiate level. He earned an undergraduate degree in Religion/Psychology Studies through the institution.


Later, Minister Kevin attended Grand Canyon University (GCU)  (Phoenix, AR) for the completion of a Masters Degree: Christian Studies: Pastor Leadership. Additionally, he has been a public educator for 2 decades working for Brenham and Katy ISD while earning a leadership degree (EC-12 Leadership) through GCU as well.


Early during 2018 and within the 153rd year of the congregation's establishment, Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church choose Minister Kevin Mitchell as the 23rd historically known elected pastor. Pastor Kevin believes ministry (serving people) is the heart of God and purpose of the Church.


Finally, he is "Daddy," to three wonderful children: Kevin, 2nd, Kennedi, and Kayla and die hard fan of the professional team God looks upon through the open roof: America's Team

(Dallas Cowboys).
